This assignment will help you understand the relationship between 2D shapes and 3D objects. Through the use of pre-made shape generators, 2D CAD in Fusion 360, and a simplified design process, you will design and make a lasercut container.
Design Brief
Create a small lasercut container from plywood that can hold, display, or otherwise contain one or more objects. The container should be purpose-built for its intended use. The container should add value to the things it is containing through more effective storage, protection, gifting, or attractive display.
Design Criteria
- The sketch of the final container must fit on a single 300mm x 600mm sheet of 2.8mm plywood.
- The container must add value – serve a purpose – to the item(s) it is containing.
- The overall design of the container must come from https://en.makercase.com/ or https://www.festi.info/boxes.py/ (“Boxes” or “Boxes with Flex” ONLY)
- The design of the container must be modified in Fusion 360 to best use a sheet of 300mm x 600mm material effectively.
